This duo will bring delight to it’s owner and offer richness and beauty in a cabinet or table setting. Made in England from Fine Bone China, circa 1970’s. Condition is excellent, no issues. Pings nicely when tapped, rings true. Any white spots you see are light refection from the camera and lights.
Royal Albert’s history began in England in 1896 by Thomas Clark Wild. The factory was located in Stoke on Trent England and was named “Albert Works”. Royal Albert was a successful family run business that produced beautiful high quality Fine Bone China over a span of 100 years.
Having a close relationship to the Royal Family, the name ‘Royal” was added to “Albert Crown China” in 1904. They were known for their rich and colorful patterns, floral motifs and Rococo shapes. They offered 100’s of styles and designs to compliment any table and their pieces were suited to every class from the modest to the wealthiest. They used roses in many of their patterns to represent England’s national flower. The company was sold to Waterford Wedgwood in 2005 and is no longer making Fine Bone China in England.
Fine English Bone China is no longer manufactured. The only opportunity to collect English Bone China is through the secondary market. This piece is an excellent example of truly fine quality and craftsmanship.
